About Milly

Milly is a 15-year-old singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Cornwall, UK, who has been surrounded by music for as long as she can remember. Often described as someone who was “singing before she could speak,” music has been a constant part of her life from an early age.

Alongside her vocals, Milly is a talented multi-instrumentalist. She began by playing cornet before progressing to trumpet, and also plays piano and guitar. She writes and records her own music both from home and in the studio, working alongside her producer, Lukas Drinkwater.

Milly’s career began at the age of 11, when she entered a songwriting competition and won the opportunity to have one of her original songs professionally recorded. This experience marked the beginning of her journey as an emerging artist.

At 13, while in Year 8 at secondary school, Milly released her debut single, Something Cute. She continued developing her sound and releasing new music, gaining increasing attention with her song Goodbye at the age of 14.

In 2025, Milly reached another major milestone when she performed on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival as part of the opening ceremony. She sang her father Gareth Churcher’s composition as a member of the World Choir, performing on one of the most iconic stages in the world.

Throughout 2025, Milly continued building her experience as a live performer, appearing at festivals, concerts and other events. She was also featured multiple times on BBC Introducing South West and was interviewed by Source FM, helping to introduce her music to a wider audience.

In the months leading up to her 15th birthday, Milly spent considerable time in and out of the studio working on her debut EP, Inside and Out. The EP was released shortly after she turned 15, marking an important new chapter in her development as an artist.

In early 2026, Milly was given another exciting opportunity when her father was invited to perform at the Interceltique Festival in Lorient, France. He invited Milly to perform her own songs at Le Kleub, a venue with a capacity of around 5,000 people. The opportunity gave Milly the chance to take her music to an international audience.

Her progress continued in the lead-up to the festival when Milly placed in the Top 30 of the Songwriters Academy UK & Ireland competition, with Tom Odell among the judges.

At the Interceltique Festival, Milly performed across five stadium shows, combining her vocals and trumpet playing in front of large crowds. The experience added an international dimension to her growing career and gave her valuable experience performing on a major festival stage.

Now continuing to release music, perform live and work with radio and other music platforms, Milly is steadily developing her career as a young artist. With her combination of songwriting, vocals, musicianship and live performance, she is continuing to build her own sound and establish herself within the music scene.
